Apply Aero Glass Effect in Windows 8 with Glass 8

In some of my recent posts, some readers, especially customization lovers, have asked me, how I had applied Aero glass effect in Windows 8, to the windows in articles screenshots. Today, in this article, I'm going to answer their question. We all know that Microsoft has removed the Aero look from windows borders and the taskbar in Windows 8, that was introduced since Windows Vista. But there exists some tools, using which you can again bring out the Aero glass look in Windows 8.1 too, and enjoy full transparency like you've done in Windows 7.

Aero Glass Effect in Windows 8

Glass 8 is one such tool I have come across. Before it I was using WinAeroGlass mentioned here. But WinAeroGlass has a limitation that it was unable to make the taskbar transparent. So I tried Glass 8, and it worked like a charm on my Windows 8.1.

Here are the highlights of this tool:

You can download this tool from here. The utility contains a simple setup, using which you can install this freeware easily. One more good thing about this software is that it automatically runs when Windows starts, meaning you don't have to place the software shortcut in shell:startup folder.

UPDATE BY ADMIN: This tool requires Secure Boot to be disabled. Secure Boot is a security feature that stops malware in its tracks and makes Windows 8 significantly more resistant to attacks. So you may want to take a call on it. Please read the comments.
