Pin to Start Screen, Tiles pointing directly to content of Windows 8 apps

Most Windows 8 users know by now how to pin or unpin Start Screen tile shortcuts for Windows Store apps. But it is a little known fact that you can even internal sections or content of some of the built-in Windows 8 apps directly to your start screen.

Lets take the example of the News app. When you open the News app, you get to see the local news first. Scroll a bit and you get to see country-wide and then World news. If World news is what interests you, you will have to open the app, scroll, and then click on World News to be able to see it. Wouldn't it be nice if you could simply create a tile to open World news directly?

Let us see how to do this in Windows 8.

Pin to Start Screen, Tiles pointing directly to content or section of Windows 8 apps

Open the News app as usual, by clicking its tile on the Start Screen. Scroll to the right to see the section you want. It could be Entertainment or World or anything else for that matter. Lets take as an example, World News here. Click on World news.

Once World News open, right-click and select Pin to Start from the bottom app bar. In the pop-out, you can even give it a name you want.

Clicking on Pin to Start will pin the tile for World news to your Windows 8 start screen.

The next time you want to read the World News, clicking on this tile will take you directly to the World News section of the News app. In this way, you can specific person from address book, email folders and other content or sub-sections of the apps.

Do check out the other apps too, where this is possible and share here for the benefit of others.
