Cypher Notepad for Windows PC
This Notepad alternative is a very simple program that comes with a user-friendly interface so you actually don't need the deep computer knowledge to use it. Even a layman can use it to protect the text documents with encryption.
You can create new documents or open the saved ones right from the main window. Each saved file is displayed with the name, size, date, and the path of its location. So basically, you can access all your saved files easily. The integrated Notepad is pretty similar to the traditional Notepad we have been using for ages. You can easily Find or Replace the text from the Edit tab.
Create a New Document
Creating a new document and encrypting it is again very easy with Cypher Notepad. Just click on New and it will open a new Window showing the Notepad. Type in whatever you want and then click on Format, select Encrypt, and you are done. Your document is absolutely safe and can be accessed only by someone who has the encryption key.
To Export the encryption key, click on File and select Export Key and you will get the key in a new window from where you can copy or save it.
Encrypt the existing File
You can also open any of your existing text files on your PC through Cypher Notepad and encrypt it with a key. Click on Open, browse, and select the file you want to encrypt. Click on Format and select Encrypt.
Your encrypted files cannot be accessed by anyone and if they try to open it the program will show them the encrypted text with a warning message. Even you yourself cannot access those files without the key if you are opening anywhere else other than Cypher Notepad.
