Real vs Rogue app from Microsoft will tell you how Scam savy you are!

Online scams are on the rise, as never before! Adult in the US have experienced at least 8 different types of online scams, and individuals are the most vulnerable to risks like online identity thefts.

Microsoft has made available a Facebook app that will tell you how smart you are, when it comes to identifying online scams and scareware or rogueware. The Real vs Rogue Facebook app from Microsoft features an interactive quiz. It uses actual scam and rogueware images and will take you through a variety of security scenarios, where you will be asked for reactions for every one of them.

Taking this quiz will not only tell you how smart (or dumb) you are as far as identifying online scams go, but it will also help you learn to tell if a security warning is from real antivirus software or from rogue security software.

As a general rule, says Microsoft, it is always a good idea to:

  1. Treat suspicious messages with caution
  2. Think before clicking links or calling a number
  3. Look for signs that a webpage is secure and legitimate
  4. Cut down on spam by sharing a primary email
  5. Protect your computer and accounts adequately.

So go ahead and take the Real vs Rogue Quiz, and let us know how well you did. :)
